Implement Dynamics CRM

Are you looking at implementing Dynamics CRM but have some fundamental questions? This page will explain how to Implement Microsoft Dynamics CRM in an agile way & effectively to generate benefits.

Online / Hosted or On Premise?

In 2009 90% of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementations were on premises, with just 10% taking a partner hosted option.

Today, the weighting is towards cloud with around 80 – 90% of implementations being Online and just 10 – 20% being on premises. Indeed there is no right or wrong answer – do you deploy your CRM site in the cloud or do you go on premises. It all depends on your organisation, its IT team and capability and your preference.

Cloud CRM solutions are accessed over web browsers and don’t need an internal server, reducing the cost of both the server hardware and server licenses. If you choose to deploy your CRM on premise you also will need SQL licensing (a SQL server license and CALs) which can stack up in terms of cost.

So it’s no reason that cloud is becoming more popular for many organisations across the scale. Both large and SME’s are use an Online CRM solution. Cloud gives the flexibility to up-scale or downsize quickly, and if the workforce works remotely access to systems is seamless.

Stretched IT teams may also prefer cloud as it means there are no daily back-ups required and it reduces the dependency on the IT department. The Return on Investment (ROI) over 5 years can be far less expensive as an online deployment than an on premise. As well as looking at license investment costs, we also recommend that you consider the IT employment costs, support and maintenance of IT functions managing the server. Please also remember for on premise licenses software assurance needs to be purchased every 2 – 3 years.

For larger organisations that obtain Microsoft agreements On Premise may be a great option as there can be significant savings on licenses. Also for those businesses that have a Microsoft competency licenses can be obtained through that method.
