What is Project Management?

Project Management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities in order to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations, which invariably involves balancing competing demands among:

  • Scope, time, cost and quality.
  • Stakeholders with different needs and expectations.
  • Identified and unidentified requirements (needs and expectations).


What can a Caltech I.T. Ltd Project Manager offer?

  • An owner for issues and problems.
  • Tighter control on changes and/or slippage.
  • Project Management controlled by a dedicated resource, allowing other people involved in an implementation to concentrate on their core competency.

  • Ensure smooth handover between all personnel involved on the project.
  • Assisting in the planning of future stages of the project.

What Happens?

  • A project Manager will be assigned for the duration of the project.
  • The implementation will commence with an Initial WorkFlow definition meeting, chaired by the Project Manager, to scope the Project and assign responsibilities and to agree timescales. This will be prior to day one Consultancy.
  • The Project Manager will produce a WorkFlow Definition Document and Timing Plan that will be used, by all parties, as the guide for the Implementation. The Project Manager, will update this Document during the Implementation, supplying all relevant personnel with a copy of the updated versions.
  • Regular contact will be held during the Implementation to ensure that deadlines will be met, any issues are resolved and that the Project is proceeding to the satisfaction of all parties.
  • Obtain final sign-off for the implementation and handover to the Partners Account Management team; Attendees will be from both Caltech I.T Ltd and the Customer.
