Microsoft CRM Marketing

posted on 26th January, 2010 by Catherine

Marketing Return on Investment.  How many times do we hear – well if you have done that campaign how much have you made the company?!  And how many marketers can answer that question?

How many marketers know if that advert you placed actually created any leads?

Or if any of the contacts you made at that event you managed actually generated business?

Microsoft CRM can.

Microsoft CRM will support your marketing processes and tie them up with product development, sales and service.  Never again will teams not know what marketing activity is happening that will impact them.  Its seamless.

And it saves time and effort especially when you are trying to ensure budget going forward.

How does it work?

Microsoft CRM is an extension to Microsoft Outlook and its interface encourages end user uptake.  All the contact data is input into Microsoft CRM so the whole organisation can see who the prospects are, who is missing solutions that could be marketed to them.

Then it’s the exciting part.  Each marketing campaign that a marketer runs is then input into the system, and each time a lead is generated it is linked back to that campaign and to the customer or potential customer.

The lead is then tracked by sales through the system.

So its simple – all details of campaigns with all the data that you will need to run that campaign are in the system.  So when marketers need to generate facts and figures about the ROI on marketing its a simple report from the system that will give the results.  No more intangibility that reduces your budget for next year; it’s clear.

These reports will also show you what is working, what can you do more of, what doesn’t work and how you can be more effective.

Being joined up with product development is also a must.  Microsoft CRM enables communication flow to ensure that you are working seamlessly and to one goal and vision.

Using Microsoft CRM gives you the assistance and help you need by simply having the information there at the ready.  This will make marketing information a lot more effective and prepared.

The benefits of Microsoft CRM for marketing teams can be found here, together with details of add ons to the system that can give extra functionality for marketing teams encouraging doing more with less, such as the event manager accelerator or the social media accelerator.
