If you are using a Dynamics 365 sales professional license and are looking to move to a Dynamics 365 sales enterprise license you can port the license over. It was thought that there would be a time when the professional and the enterprise would not be able to be ported however we have clarification that you can move from a Dynamics 365 Sales professional license to a Dynamics 365 Sales enterprise license.
The Dynamics 365 Sales Enterprise license is a full license with account management, automation and as many custom entities as you may need where the Dynamics 365 Sales Professional License is a lighter touch limited to 15 custom entities. For full information on the differences check out the Microsoft Licensing Guide here (we find Appendix B a helpful snapshot). Please ensure you are reading the correct one, there is one for Online and a separate one for On Premise. This is updated regularly so please do ensure you are looking at the correct up dated version. - Procure Dynamics 365 Sales enterprise licenses. If you need a hand with this let us know.
- Assign the Dynamics 365 Sales enterprise license to the correct users.
- Install the Dynamics 365 Sales enterprise edition solution.
- Delete the Dynamics 365 Sales professional solution.
